Melai Cantiveros to topbill in comedy film ‘Ma’am Chief’

“Queen Kamsami” has an upcoming movie.

TV host-comedienne Melai Cantiveros is set to make her movie comeback. This time, she is set to star as the lead actress.

Titled ‘Ma’am Chief: Shakedown in Seoul,’ the film will follow Cantiveros portay a policewoman who will be sent to South Korea for a mission. To hide her identity, she will transform herself and disguise as a tour guide.

Part of the cast are Karylle, Jennica Garcia, Alora Sasam, Al Tantay, and Bernadtte Allison, among others.

Korean stars will also make their respective special participations in the movie. They are Lee Seung Gi, Do Ji Han, and GFRIEND’s Yuju.

Under the direction of Kring Kim, ‘Ma’am Chief’ is the first feature film of Pulp Studios, the content production arm of Pulp Group which also owns events management company Pulp Live World.

‘Ma’am Chief’ will be released in cinemas nationwide on November 15.

Melai Cantiveros began her showbiz career after being hailed the Big Winner in the ‘Double Up’ season of reality show ‘Pinoy Big Brother’ in 2010. She then carved her path as a comedian and presenter by way of movies and television shows.

Currently, she is active on television via ABS-CBN’s morning talk show ‘Magandang Buhay,’ primetime game show ‘Ur Da Boss’ on PIE channel, and the interim noontime show ‘It’s Your Lucky Day’.
