DonBelle series ‘Can’t Buy Me Love’ to stream on Netflix

“Tudum.”

The upcoming ABS-CBN series ‘Can’t Buy Me Love,’ starring Donny Pangilinan and Belle Mariano will air in multiple platforms. Well, that’s already given since Kapamilya shows are available on free and pay television and streaming.

However, ‘CBML’ will add one more to theirs as the DonBelle-led drama will become available on Netflix.

The news was confirmed on Thursday, September 7, as the official Netflix Philippines account on X (formerly Twitter) posted “Hala, may teaser na.”

The said line was the trending keyword on Tuesday after the Kapamilya network posted the first look at the series, which will be directed by Mae Cruz Alviar and under the Star Creatives unit.

With its upcoming entry to Netflix, ‘Can’t Buy Me Love’ will have some big shoes to fill as it will only be the second Filipino series to simultaneously stream on both the streaming platform and television.

Last year, ABS-CBN trailblazed the scheme with the KathNiel’s (Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla) comeback series ‘2 Good 2 Be True.’ On Netflix, the drama was uploaded 72 hours in advance from its television counterparts.

‘2G2BT’ proved to be wildly successful on the platform and kept its title as the number 1 Filipino TV show and most-watched show in Netflix Philippines throughout its run.

‘Can’t Buy Me Love’ is set to make its premiere this October 16 on weekday primetime via free TV on A2Z and TV5, cable via Kapamilya Channel and Jeepney TV, social media via Kapamilya Online Live on Facebook and YouTube, and streaming on iWantTFC. Netflix will also make the series available 72 hours before its TV release starting on October 13.
