‘Egay’ exits PAR; ‘Falcon’ gearing to enter area of responsibility
Typhoon Doksuri, formerly known as ‘Egay’ inside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), is moving over the Taiwan Strait, according to the 11:00 pm bulletin of PAGASA. Its last location was at 315 kilometers West Northwest of Itbayat, Batanes, moving Northward at a speed of 15 kilometers per hour. It packs winds of up to 150 kilometers per hour, with 185 kilometers per hour of gusts.
All tropical cyclone wind signals in the country have also been terminated. Despite that, the cyclone is still expected to enhance the Southwest Monsoon or hanging Habagat, which will bring occasional monsoon rains to the western portion of Luzon in the next three days, the state weather bureau said.
Meanwhile, a Tropical Depression has formed outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility and was found at 1,335 kilometers East of Eastern Visayas. Based on PAGASA’s forecast track, it will enter PAR on Saturday or Sunday and will be named ‘Falcon’.
‘Falcon’ is not expected to make a landfall in the country. Also, tropical cyclone wind signals in any area in the Philippines will unlikely be raised due tob+ ‘Falcon’. But, it may bring monsoon rain over the weekend over the western portions of Luzon and Visayas over the weekend.
‘Unang Hirit’ flood report goes viral
A report by weatherman Anjo Pertierra during the July 20 edition of ‘Unang Hirit’ has went viral on social media. This, as netizens try to fathom what occurred during the live report.
In the two-minute-long report, Pertierra is broadcasting on-site from Calumpit, Bulacan. The said live point is a continuation of his earlier report about homes that were affected by the flooding in the area for weeks. To have another perspective on the matter, Pertierra spoke to another resident living in the area. This time, though, the interview took place in what seemed to be a road submerged in water.
In the clip, the woman was seen riding a boat in the background, while the weatherman was delivering his spiels at the foreground. Later on, the boat stopped, as the lady alighted to be interviewed. That exact moment has caused many netizens to get confused and amazed at how many “things happened in a single video.” To date, the viral clip has garnered more than a million views on Twitter.
