The series will be released sometime in 2024.
Bianca Umali will lead the Encantadia spin-off series ‘Sang’gre’. This is based on the concept art released for the telefantasya at the San Diego Comic-Con 2023 by the series director Mark Reyes. She has been casted to portray the daughter of Sang’gre Danaya — one of the original four sisters in the main series. ‘Sang’gre’ is set to air in 2024 on GMA.
‘Encantadia’ is a popular fantasy series in the Philippines which first aired in 2005, and was starred by Iza Calzado, Sunshine Dizon, Daiana Zubiri, and Karylle. It later received a re-quel or a retelling-sequel in 2016 — which was re-aired during the lockdowns in 2020 and proved to be a massive hit then — with new gen Sang’gres in Kylie Padilla, Glaiza de Castro, Sanya Lopez, and Gabbi Garcia.
Bianca Umali herself has also interacted with the 2016 Sang’gres in the past. This was during ‘Mulawin vs. Ravena,’ when Pirena (Glaiza de Castro) and Lira (Mikee Quintos) appeared during a storyline in the series. Umali, meanwhile, portrayed the grown-up version of Lawiswis, opposite Miguel Tanfelix’s Pagaspas.
The other cast members, as well as the timeline for the spin-off series will be revealed in due course.
