The iconic landmark in Makati will be bulldozed next year.
In a report by INQUIRER’s Biz Buzz, it said that Ayala Malls is planning to close down its Greenbelt 1 mall in Makati City next year.
It added that the land will be redeveloped as a mixed-use complex containing shops, cinemas, and residential units.
Tenants have also been informed about the upcoming development, with them moving out sometime in early 2024.
The first Greenbelt mall opened in 1988, with its building being designed by no other than Leandro Locsin himself.
Despite the changes, the other Greenbelt malls (2-5), as well as the Park and the Chapels will remain.
