‘Right To Care’ card, launched in Quezon City.
Quezon City in the National Capital Region of the Philippines launched its ‘Right To Care’ program. Through the card, LGBTQIA+ couples are being given the Special Power of Attorney (SPA) to decide on health matters concerning their partners. The card can be used in hospitals in the city.
The said ‘Right To Care’ card is the first of its kind in the Philippines. It was also launched by the local government unit, headed by Mayor Joy Belmonte, during the pride event at the Quezon Memorial Circle earlier today.
TeleRadyo to have a “new version” — ABS-CBN reporter
In a tweet on Saturday, ABS-CBN reporter Jekki Pascual said that TeleRadyo will have a “new version” soon. This comes days before the scheduled ‘closure’ of the channel on Friday, June 30.
In the same post, Pascual bade farewell to his bulletin program on TeleRadyo, ‘Balita Ngayon’. Apart from him, several other Saturday programs of the channel also gave their respective goodbyes on their last episode under the current management.
This is a significant development, as there are also circulating reports that TeleRadyo will be merely be transferred over to a new management and not close down altogether. ABS-CBN has yet to make a concrete statement regarding TeleRadyo’s future.
But in a statement in May, ABS-CBN said that the channel will cease operations on June 30, 2023, due to “financial loss incurred” by the channel since the closure of the DZMM 630 radio station in 2020. But ABS also said that they will be entering a joint venture with PrimeMedia Holdings to produce news content to “third party platforms.”

‘My Puhunan’ to return soon
Another beloved ABS-CBN current affairs show is returning to air. Based on the latest teasers released by ABS-CBN News, ‘My Puhunan’ is presumed to be coming back. Hosted by Karen Davila, the show was first aired in 2013. It featured stories of various business, while also connecting them to micro-and-small enterprises that they can help out.
In 2020, ‘My Puhunan’ became one of the casualties when ABS-CBN News’ current affairs group was folded after the non-renewal of the network’s franchise.
Its return to air this year amidst the resurgence of Kapamilya current affairs shows. Last year, ‘KBYN’ of Kabayan Noli de Castro became the first CA show to air after 2020. When that ended its run, ‘Tao Po’ led by Bernadette Sembrano replaced it in the early Sunday evening slot. Since last week, ‘Rated Korina’ of Korina Sanchez-Roxas has also returned under the ABS-CBN umbrella, although it is produced by the Entertainment division.
The official announcement by ABS-CBN News will be made on Monday through its social media accounts.
Alexa Ilacad, “volunteers” to be Rufa Mae’s daughter in ‘Booba’ sequel
Actress and former child star Alexa Ilacad took to Twitter to “volunteer” as Rufa Mae Quinto’s daughter in the upcoming sequel of ‘Booba’.
Ilacad said in a tweet, “i volunteer as the daughter.” Her post is a reply to the original tweet by a film updates account. It said that Rufa Mae will reprise the titular role of ‘Booba’, but is looking for a daughter that will play as a contrast to Booba.
‘Booba’ is a comedy film produced and released in 2001 by Viva Films. Its upcoming sequel is expected to be released this year or in 2024.
