Coco Martin, Julia Montes admit relationship (Original story, published May 23, 2023)
In an exclusive interview by ABS-CBN’s MJ Felipe, Coco Martin publicly confirmed and revealed his 12-year-long relationship with Julia Montes.
It was exactly 12 years ago, in 2011, when speculations of him courting Julia floated. The two actors then co-starred in the 2012 series ‘Walang Hanggan.’ Their latest on-screen project together was the final book of ‘FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano,’ that ran from 2021 to 2022. Julia Montes played the role of Mara, the last love interest of Coco Martin’s Cardo Dalisay in the series.

A few hours after the TV report, a clarification was released regarding the “12-year-relationship” of Coco Martin and Julia Montes. According to ABS-CBN News, the report and both Montes and Martin were supposedly referring to their on-screen partnership. The CocoJul love team began in ‘Walang Hanggan,’ which was aired in 2012.
The clarification comes after Martin drew flak online, as netizens accused him of ‘grooming’ Montes into entering a romantic relationship. 12 years ago, Montes was aged 16, which is still a minor, at that time. Meanwhile, Coco was already 29 years old.
