PH bets for Miss Universe, Supranational, and Charm named
In the grand coronation night of Miss Universe Philippines 2023, the country’s representatives for the upcoming edition of MU this year has been named.
She is none other than actress-model Michelle Marquez Dee from Makati City. Dee will represent the country in the upcoming 72nd edition of the Miss Universe pageant in El Salvador, which is set to happen later this year.
In a separate ceremony after the pageant proper, Krishnah Gravidez and Pauline Amelincx were formally awarded their own crowns. Respectively, they will represent the country in Miss Charm 2024 and Miss Supranational 2023.
LRT-2 ops affected by fire near Recto station on Sunday
Earlier today, a fire broke out in the settlement beside the Recto station in the LRT-2 line. The said fire damaged the connecting bridge between Recto and LRT-1 Doroteo Jose stations.
As a result, LRT-2 implemented a provisionary service from Antipolo to V. Mapa stations at around 5:00 am.
Normal train services from Antipolo to Recto and vice versa resumed by 1:00 pm.
DLSU Lady Spikers take home UAAP Season 85 Female Volleyball Championship
After 5 years, the De La Salle University Lady Spikers successfully brought home the UAAP Volleyball championship to Taft. This, as they defeated the National University Lady Bulldogs in the second game of the finals series.
This championship is DLSU’s 12th in UAAP female volleyball history.

National U clinches UAAP Men’s Volleyball championship
The National University Bulldogs have successfully defended their throne in the Men’s Volleyball league of the UAAP. Going against the University of Santo Tomas Golden Spikers, the Bulldogs have also made a triumphant campaign in season 85, as they end it without losing any game since the start of the season.
With this win, the NU Bulldogs have also secured a three-peat championship in Men’s Volleyball, having won in the sport in Seasons 82 and 84.
NCT DoJaeJung to perform in Manila this June
Doyoung, Jaehyun, and Jungwoo or NCT DoJaeJung are coming to Manila on June 24, 2023 for their ‘Scented Symphony: Perfume’ fan-con event at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.
Other details, such as the ticket prices and seat plan, have yet to be released.
TV5 premieres three new Sunday afternoon shows
Due to the expected long break of the PBA due to the upcoming FIBA World Cup, TV5 has been able to place new programs on the slots otherwise occupied by the league on Sunday afternoons.
At 4:00 pm, Viva One streaming series based on the Wattpad story ‘The Rain in España,’ starring Heaven Petealejo and Marco Gallo, premiered on television.
Following that, at 5:00 pm, the network launched the game show ‘Emojination,’ featuring the tandem of Maja Salavador and Awra Briguela as the show’s hosts.
‘Jack and Jill sa Diamond Hills’ was tthen aired at 6:00 pm, starring Jake Cuenca and Sue Ramirez in the titular roles, respectively.
The Kapatid network has also adjusted the timeslots ABS-CBN Entertainment weekend primetime shows. Since last Sunday, ‘The Voice Kids’ has been airing at 7:00 pm, while ‘I Can See Your Voice’ takes over at 8:30 pm.
