The terminal building is currently dependent on generator set.
On Labor Day Monday, May 1 at past 1:00 am, the Terminal 3 of Ninoy Aquino International Airport in Manila, Philippines, was hit by a power outage. The cause is still being looked at the moment.
According to Secretary for Transportation Jaime Bautista, the outage has since been augmented by a generator set. However, it only powers necessary services, such as Check-In and departure processes. Air-conditioning in some areas are unavailable, but are already being fixed.
The Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) has also apologized for the inconvenience the situation has caused to the passengers.
Due to ths outage, flights have either been delayed or canceled.

President Bongbong Marcos have also sent a directive to fix the issue at NAIA Terminal 3.
Exactly four months ago today, on New Year’s Day 2023, the airport and the Philippine airspace was forced to temporarily shut after the power substation of Terminal 3 experienced electrical problems. That triggered the uninterruptible power supply of the Air Traffic Management Center to operate, but that failed due to overvoltage. Ultimately resulting to the 6-hour-long shutter of the airspace and days of flight delays and cancelation.
