Actors Park Shin-hye and Choi Tae-joon announce pregnancy, wedding plans

The two have been dating since 2017.

On November 23, 2021, Korean actors Park Shin-hye and Choi Tae-joon stunned fans and the media as they deliver the news of their pregnancy. Through their statements released via their respective agencies, shared their excitement about this new chapter in their lives.

Park says that she would be “marrying a person whom she has known for a long time.” She also added that it’s someone who has “embraced all the imperfections of her (Shin-hye).”

Later on, Choi also shared that same news, while assuring his fans that he would “show responsibility as the man of the family.” As an actor, he says that he will be “delivering acting that meets expectations.”

Park and Choi also shared the news of their upcoming wedding. The two are set to marry privately on January 22, 2022 in Seoul, South Korea.

The couple first dated in 2017, and publicly announced their status in March 2018.

Park Shin-hye, who is now 31 years old, was first seen playing Han Jung Soo, the younger version of Choi Ji Woo’s character in the 2003 drama Stairway to Heaven. Later on, she was paired opposite Jang Geun Seuk for You’re Beautiful in 2009. In 2013, she amassed a huge following when she starred as Cha Eun Sang in The Heirs and the adult version of Ye-sung in the film Miracle in Cell No. 7.

Park also played the female lead for Pinocchio, Doctor Crush, Memories of Alhambra, and most recently, Sisyphus.

Meanwhile, 30-year-old Choi Tae-joon first debuted as a child actor in 2001. As an adult, he starred The Girl Who See Smells, Missing 9, Suspicious Partner, and just this year, in So I Married an Anti-Fan opposite SNSD’s Sooyoung. At one point, he also served as a permanent MC for the KBS talk show Hello, Counselor.
