‘Heartful Café’ brews on GMA instead of GTV

It will be launched on Telebabad tomorrow, replacing the second season of I Can See You.

What was touted to be GTV’s second primetime series wouldn’t be airing on the channel, after all. On April 15, GMA surprised viewers with an update on Heartful Café‘s new broadcast date. But rather than proceeding with the initial plan, the Kapuso network has decided to put HC on the flagship channel’s primetime block.

Initially set to replace GTV’s The Lost Recipe, Heartful Café won’t be airing on GTV. Instead, the simulcast would only be limited to GMA and Heart of Asia channels. GTV would instead place a movie block between 8:50 and 10:20pm named G! Flicks.

According to their interview with PEP, Heartful’s program manager Dennis Bentulan thinks that the reason for the promotion of HC from GTV to GMA was the good quality of the pilot episode, in which they were “probably impressed.” Thus, GMA’s executives deemed that it would be suitable for HC to be pulled from GTV and be placed on Telebabad instead.

Heartful Café will star Julie Anne San Jose, David Licauco, and Edgar Allan Guzman, along with an ensemble of cast. The rom-com lighthearted drama will follow the life of Heart, portrayed by San Jose, as she finds a business partner for her café business in Ace, played by Licauco.

Heartful Café will air weeknights at 8:50pm, after First Yaya on GMA Telebabad and the Heart of Asia Channel beginning April 26, 2021.
