The three members will ring in the new year with the Filipino crowd.
Irene, Seulgi, and Wendy of the Korean pop girl group Red Velvet will welcome the forthcoming year in the Philippines.
This, as they were confirmed to be performing at the New Year Countdown event organized by Bonfacio High Street in Taguig City on Sunday, December 31, 2023.
Alongside them are original Filipino music acts led by Ely Buendia, KZ Tandingan, Zack Tabudlo, and Adie.
The event marks the return of the three Red Velvet members to the Philippines after their successful ‘R to V’ concert in Manila last May.
However, that pushed through without Joy, who along with Yeri, are not part of the line-up for the countdown event.
Last November, the group came back with their first release in a year titled ‘Chill Kill,’ which is also their first full album after ‘Perfect Velvet’ in 2017.
Red Velvet debuted in 2014 with ‘Happiness,’ before they became a five-member group in 2015 upon the addition of Yeri during the ‘Ice Cream Cake’ era.
They went on to release popular songs like ‘Psycho,’ ‘Bad Boy,’ ‘Peek-a-boo,’ ‘Red Flavor,’ ‘Russian Roulette,’ ‘Dumb Dumb,’ ‘Zimzalabim,’ ‘Umpah Umpah,’ ‘Queendom,’ ‘Feel My Rhythm,’ among many others.
